Sunday mornings are a real struggle for me.Ā Knowing that the week is about to start makes me want to stay in bed forever! Most of the time I use breakfast as a way to motivate myself to get out of bed, also that I have a 7 month old child that has a black hole for a stomach and is in a constant state of hanger helps. This week’s family meal is a yummy oatmeal and fruit bowl for the parents and a spoon-licking cinnamon apple, pear and oatmeal purĆ©e for baby.Ā
I wholeheartedly believe that spices make a dish.Ā I added cinnamon and nutmeg to the oatmeal for baby, but if you don’t feel comfortable with it, feel free to leave it out and add it to just the adults bowls as a topping. I like my oatmeal sweet (I’m a sugar addict) so I topped it was brown sugar and maple syrup, but you can also use honey as well!
The oatmeal is super hearty and a perfect breakfast for cold winter mornings. It’s been pretty cold and rainy here in SF lately, so this was a nice way to cozy up on a Sunday morning.
Warm yourself up and make baby a healthy and tasty meal this weekend!
