We finally got our tree up a few days ago and finished decorating it! Every year my family adds a few more ornaments to the tree. This year I added a glass blown ornament I made when I was in Alabama and a phot ornament Elara made. I was browsing the Cricut Access projects for the Cricut Explore Air 2 and noticed they had a personalized ornament template and I figured why not? It looked easy enough even though I’ve never worked with vinyl before.
This was also the first time I ever customized a template. It was actually pretty easy. I found some snowflake images and added them to the project. All I had to do was click and drag!
I then placed my silver Cricut Premium Vinyl down on the Grip mat and let the machine do its thing! I was so surprised at how exact the cuts are and how quick the machine works.
I cut out my lettering and snowflakes from the rest of the vinyl so it would be easier to work with. Then I used my weeder to carefully peel away any of the parts that I wouldn’t need. The weeder honestly is the best tool! It makes peeling intricate designs and letters SO much easier.
I then used the tweezers from the toolset to place each vinyl piece onto the ornament. I probably could have been neater and lined up my letter better, but hey, I tried! I placed the snowflakes onto the back of each ornament as well.
That is all it took! How cute are they? I’m thinking of making a couple for the rest of my family for their trees!
