Boba Milk Tea

Description

Make bubble tea at home with boba pearls and black tea. (Makes 2 drinks)

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 cup boba pearls
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp tea of your choice (I used black tea)
  • milk of your choice

Instructions

  1. Bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Add tapioca pearls and wait until they all float then cover and simmer on low for 5 minutes.

  2. Dissolve brown sugar in 1/4 cup of water. Add 1/2 cup of ice. Strain the cooked tapioca pearls and pour them into the cold sugar mixture. Mix well and set aside while you prepare the tea.

  3. Bring 2 cups of water to a simmer and add your choice of tea. Turn off the heat and cover. Steep for 5 minutes (or however long your tea brand suggests) and strain into a measuring cup for easy assembly.

  4. Split the boba amongst 2 glasses. Pour half the tea into each glass. Add your choice of sweetener (I used the brown sugar mixture I made for the boba). Pour in your choice of milk and enjoy! Add ice if it’s not cold enough!
