There’s something about work wear that makes people think boring. When I was in business school, the dress code was business casual, and man did people grumble. Personally, I’ve always been a huge fan business casual (maybe its because it makes me feel powerful and in charge?) And working as an accountant means that it’s business casual everyday. Despite my love for work wear, I like to keep things stylish and personal and far from typical accountant as possible. I’ve put together some fun ways to wear some work staples like pencil skirts and dress pants, and I’ve thrown together some outfits to inspire you to make business casual more fashion friendly.
The staple of any work wardrobe is a great pencil skirt. Keep things interesting with embellished collars, contrast piping, or just bold accessories.
For days I want something comfortable, dress pants are my go to. Try dress pants paired with a shell and a cardigan (top row), a tank and a cute open sweater (second row), or a button down.
A silky white shirt pairs great with a pencil skirt but to really keep things interesting, try a white tee and a bold necklace.
Work clothes don’t have to be boring. Try incorporating a print.
One of my go-tos is a dress paired with a long cardigan. Cute and conservative.
