Even though June is summer time in most places, in San Francisco we are going through something called June Gloom. Yup, it’s getting cold, foggy and gross in San Francisco this month, but that doesn’t mean I won’t pretend it’s warm outside! (Fake it til you make it, right?) What’s more summery than a refreshing, cold drink? This recipe for cherry limeade is surprisingly easy and perfect for family gatherings like BBQs, pool parties or picnics!
Summertime is full of family visits and dinner in our backyard. In the Indian culture, it’s considered rude to not offer a cold drink to your guests when people come over. As the eldest daughter in my family, it was my job to make sure none of our guests were parched.
Usually, when I make limeade for my family, I always get tons of family members telling me that it’s either too sweet or not sweet enough. This time I avoided that mess by using C&H ® Quick Dissolve Superfine Sugar. C&H® Sugar is sold where I live, but if they don’t sell it in your area, look for Domino® Sugar, the sister brand of C&H® Sugar.
C&H® Quick Dissolve Superfine Sugar is exactly like what it sounds like, it’s super fine so that it dissolves easily into any drink! This way I was able to leave a canister out so that people could sweeten the limeade to their taste! WIN!
This cherry limeade can be made with fresh or frozen cherries. Right now the farmer’s markets have been full of ripe cherries, so I used fresh. I love making this cold drink for my family! What’s your go-to drink recipe for a family gathering?
