Working at an ice cream company has its pros and cons. Pro: My work revolves around ice cream. Con; My work revolves around ice cream. I eat WAY too much ice cream. It’s a problem. Which is why I’ve tried to make all my other meals in my day as healthy as possible. Which is why I’m sharing my current quick dessert/breakfast/healthy snack recipe with you guys! It’s super easy and only requires 2 ingredients! I grabbed some Maple Hill Organic Blended Yogurt from my local Whole Foods and got to work!
I’m kinda loving Maple Hill because not only are their products made from grass-fed cows, but they’re certified USDA and PCO organic. After reading Michael Pollan’s book The Omnivore’s Dilemma, having products made from grass-fed cows (not grain) is super important to me. Cows aren’t meant to eat grain for food, plus grass-fed means that the cows are given space to ruminate versus being stuck in a small space with bins of grains!
Ok, I’ll step off my soapbox now. But for real, this stuff is delicious! It’s a little thinner than Greek yogurt since the fruit is blended into the yogurt. Elara is a dairy-freak and eats a cup of yogurt every day and she LOVED Maple Hill. I also love that it’s made with whole milk since Elara really needs the fat. (OMG I’m turning into my mother – “Look at you, soo skinny, you don’t eat enough!”)
Frozen yogurt bark is super easy to make. All you need is some of your favorite yogurt and some fruit, like berries or grapes! This recipe is great for a quick snack or dessert. I like to grab a piece from the freezer in the mornings as a quick breakfast! Also, a super healthy snack for your kids! Right now I use it to reward her for using the potty (which is a whole other post!)! 🙂
I love the texture of the frozen berries with the creamy yogurt, especially the raspberries. Next time I make this I’m going to use grapes because frozen grapes are the best! If you’re looking for a simple, easy recipe for a kids party, healthy dessert or want to use up the yogurt in your fridge before it goes bad – this is the perfect recipe!
