Whether you call them muddy buddies or puppy chow, they are a classic American treat! It is traditionally made with Chex cereal, chocolate, peanut butter, butter, and powdered sugar. Growing up puppy chow always reminded me of an American version of a sweet chevdo (Indian trail mix). I used the traditional Chex Puppy Chow recipe but with the addition of my homemade Parle G cookie butter and some chai spices! Gotta get that full chai “biskoot” experience!
I didn’t learn about puppy chow until I was in college! A friend of mine made some for a snack while we studied for finals and I was addicted. I love how the powdered sugar just melts in your mouth.
These are great to mail to friends and family or a sweet treat to put out for guests at a holiday party!
