Spring is finally almost here… which means there’s no better time for a refreshing beverage!

I’ve been wanting an excuse to make this recipe so I’m extra thankful that I get to work with @floridagrapefruitus on this!

This is my take on a sparkling grapefruit mocktail, it’s made of freshly squeezed Florida Grapefruit juice, a touch of honey, muddled mint, and sparkling water. Simple and refreshing!

Mojitos are my go-to cocktails — the mint, citrus, and bubbles make the most perfect drink. But if I had to choose a second one, it would definitely be a Paloma, which is a cocktail made up of tequila, lime juice, and grapefruit soda. This recipe takes my favorite elements from both of those and dare I say… I think this blows them both out the water! The fresh grapefruit is a total game changer and provides an extra tang that the grapefruit soda doesn’t. Let me know your favorite cocktail/mocktail in the comments below!

Overall, this recipe has a lot of great elements but the fresh Florida Grapefruit is definitely the star! Grapefruit adds the perfect amount of sweetness and tanginess to this cocktail/mocktail! Available in stores from November through May each year, Florida Grapefruit is at its sweetest January through May (just as the weather turns cold in Florida)! Did you know that much of Florida’s Grapefruit is grown in the Indian River region of the state? Located on the east coast of Florida, the Indian River stretches more than 200 miles south from Daytona to West Palm Beach.

According to the Florida Department of Citrus, fresh Florida Grapefruit is well-known for being rich in vitamin C and just one-half of a medium grapefruit provides 50 percent of the recommended Daily Value. One half of a medium Florida  Grapefruit is also fat-free, sodium-free, cholesterol-free, and contains no added sugars. From being a great addition to a weight loss diet to heart health benefits, Fresh Florida Grapefruit and Florida Grapefruit Juice are excellent choices as part of a balanced diet for overall health.

You’ll find so many nutrients in grapefruit. A few of them are the following:

Florida has the most high-quality citrus and it never fails me! I’m already dreaming of creating a grapefruit tart or cake because this flavor is so darn addicting!

Tip: Add a little bit of fresh ginger along with the mint to this recipe for a little extra spice!
